LIVING WILL

Most people in this day and age write wills so that their wishes can be done once they pass on. Wills are often a source of frictions between family members but they often give us a glimpse of what a person stood. There is one will that has stood the test of time and the owner never wrote it! He said it from the cross to express His love for the world. His will, according to most preachers contains 7 cardinal statements which summarize his ministry on earth. The number 7 is crucial because it signifies completeness. Nothing can be added or taken away from the will of Jesus Christ. These statements were recently celebrated at Easter and appropriately so, because a will is usually opened after someone has passed on. The 7 statements from the cross which we (the redeemed) are privileged to claim as ours are: 1. Forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing. 2. Today, you will be with me in paradise. 3. Here is your mother (the Lord loved our mothers). 4. My God my God, why have you abandoned me? [Jesus was abandoned for a period of time to take on our sins]. 5. I am thirsty 6. It is finished 7. Father, I entrust my spirit into thy hands. To understand fully, the will of Jesus Christ, reading the gospel of John will be quite helpful. It is a summary of the living will of our Lord.

THE SHEPHERDS, (CHRISTMAS 2014)

The Christmas story I enjoy most year in and year out is that of the shepherds as recorded in Luke 2:8-20. After the fear of meeting the angel was over, the shepherds obeyed by going to Bethlehem to find the Messiah. They found Him just as they were told. He was laid in a manger. Their fear turned to joy and they could not hold it to themselves! They immediately went out and told everyone they met that they had found the Messiah in baby Jesus. People took notice and we are told that everyone was astonished! I would have been astonished too to see ordinary folks like shepherds expounding the gospel from their hearts. Shepherds were not trained Rabbis!! This story brings two significant points home for me: 1. When you are told the good news of finding the saviour (yes it can be overwhelming at first), accept it. It is true and countless people have found the Messiah by simply believing without doing anything else. The shepherds were probably the first believers! 2. When you find the Saviour, tell others about your new found hope. The shepherds were probably the first missionaries who answered the “Great Commission” long before the Lord gave it 33 years later.

Moody Institute- Chicago

Visiting the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago was the highlight of my summer holidays. Of course I couldn't resist jogging around the scenic Lake Michigan. Photos below show a glimpse of Moody's thoughts on God's word and the institute itself.s.

Thank you

Have you ever said thank you to anyone? If you have, please read Psalm 50. What a wonderful reminder that saying thank you is worship to our creator!

God's beauty in creation

Just some pictures from Atlantic Canada showing the wonder and beauty contained in God's creation. The pictures taken in the winter season of of 2014 show the frozen bay and a curious fox wondering what a humn being should be doing in lovely Cavendish Park Bay of Prince Edward Island on a chilly afternoon (temp was -13 degrees C).
